Connect your WooCommerce store to Glitz

Connecting WooCommerce brings your catalogue into Glitz, so influencers can pick your products and share them. Shoppers who come through an influencer's link are sent to your own store to buy, and a small Glitz plugin records which influencer sent them.

Shoppers check out on your own store

Before you start

  • A Glitz company account.
  • Admin access to your WordPress site with WooCommerce installed.
  • Your store address. It must start with https://.

Steps

  1. 1

    Create a read-only API key

In your WordPress admin open WooCommerce, Settings, Advanced, REST API, and add a key. Name it Glitz, choose your own user, and set Permissions to Read.

  2. 2

    Copy the key pair

WooCommerce shows a consumer key starting with ck_ and a consumer secret starting with cs_. Copy both now. WooCommerce does not show the secret again.

  3. 3

    Connect in Glitz

In Glitz go to Dashboard, Connect your store, WooCommerce. Enter your store address, the consumer key and the consumer secret, then select Connect and import products.

  4. 4

    Install the Glitz Attribution plugin

Download the plugin from the Connect your store page. In WordPress open Plugins, Add New, Upload Plugin, choose the zip file and activate it. This is what credits sales to influencers.

  5. 5

    Set your commission

Set the commission for your products in Glitz and choose which influencers can promote them.

What syncs

  • Published products: name, description, price, sale price, images, variations and stock.
  • Orders that include your synced products.
  • Glitz checks your store every six hours. Press Sync now on the Connect your store page to pull product changes straight away.
  • A product you unpublish or delete in WooCommerce is hidden on Glitz.

What stays yours in Glitz

  • The commission you pay influencers on each product. New products arrive at 0%, so set your rate before influencers start promoting them.
  • Which influencers can promote each product.
  • The product category on Glitz. It is taken from your store on the first import, and after that you change it in Glitz.
  • Products you hide in Glitz stay hidden, even if they are live in your store.

If you disconnect, your products are hidden on Glitz. Nothing is deleted. Connect the same store again and they come back with their commission and influencers in place.

How sales are credited to influencers

When a shopper presses Buy on the store, Glitz sends them to the product page on your store with the influencer's code in the link, as ?glitz_ref=CODE.

The Glitz Attribution plugin keeps that code in a cookie for 30 days. The last influencer link a shopper used wins. At checkout the plugin writes the code onto the order as glitz_ref. It works with both the classic and the block checkout.

Every six hours Glitz reads new orders in Processing, Completed or On hold and credits the ones that carry a code. An order without a code is recorded with no commission, so the plugin is needed for influencers to be paid.

The commission is held for 30 days against refunds, then paid to the influencer. An order you refund in WooCommerce cancels or reverses it. Commissions you owe are listed on your monthly Glitz statement.

If something goes wrong

“WooCommerce keys start with ck_ and cs_”
The key and secret were pasted in the wrong boxes or are incomplete. Copy them again from WooCommerce, Settings, Advanced, REST API, or create a new key.
“WooCommerce rejected the key pair”
The key was revoked, mistyped, or does not have Read permission. Create a new key with Read permission and connect again.
“The store address must start with https://”
Glitz only connects over a secure address. Use the https:// address of your store.
“That address does not look like a WooCommerce store”
Use the address of the WordPress site where WooCommerce runs, for example https://shop.example.com.

Questions

Can Glitz change anything in my store?

No. The key has Read permission, so Glitz can read products and orders and nothing else.

Do I have to install the plugin?

Products sync without it, and orders still appear in Glitz. Without it no order carries an influencer's code, so no commission can be paid and influencers have no reason to promote you.

Where do shoppers pay?

On your own WooCommerce checkout. Your store takes the payment and fulfils the order as usual.

Can I connect more than one WooCommerce store?

One at a time per Glitz company. Disconnect the current one to connect another.
